Puppy Enquiries

Please note! No puppies currently available or planned so at present we are not keeping any waiting lists.

When enquiring about our puppies, we expect you to have researched the breed and met some in person to be sure that this is the right breed for you (they're active, intelligent little dogs, not couch potatoes or stuffed ornaments so do not appreciate being left home alone for long periods).

We also expect you to come and meet ourselves and our dogs at least once before our puppies are old enough to leave us. This will usually be from about 3 weeks old onwards but if travelling any distance they're a lot more interesting at 5 weeks onwards and don't spend quite as much time sleeping.

Visiting us or being placed on our puppy list does not ensure that you will be allowed one of our puppies as there are all sorts of reasons why you or any puppies we have available may not be a suitable match for each other.

Things to include in your enquiry  :-

(It is important that you do this as this will help us to determine if we have something suitable so that we can match up the right puppy for you)

Please do tell us all about yourselves, your family members living in the same household and any current or previous dogs or other pets you have owned. Also include if any current dogs are neutered or used for breeding.

Who will be the primary care giver for the dog/puppy?

How much time will the puppy spend alone due to your employment or hobbies/entertainment (please include travelling time to/from there)?

What provision will be made for settling the puppy into its new home?

What plans do you have for holidays? Is the puppy included?

Does your house have a securely fenced garden?

If you have neighbours, are they dog-friendly (keep in mind that this is a breed that is prone to barking if allowed to do so or left alone for long periods of time which can cause neighbour problems for some!)?

What area is available for exercising the puppy?

Do you have any experience of the breed you are enquiring about and why have you chosen this breed?

Is the puppy to be purely a pet or do you have plans for anything further (showing, agility, breeding, etc)?

Do you have any preference for a dog or bitch and any particular prefered colour (though do keep in mind that most of our litters tend to be only cream or white)?

Have you enquired anywhere else for a puppy/dog and are you currently on anyone's waiting list?

By providing us with as much information as possible, we can then use that information to try and match you up with the most suitable puppy and informative emails are usually given priority for replies.

No enquiries on behalf of 3rd parties or as gifts please, the potential new owner that is interested in our dogs or puppies should contact us themselves.

Enquiries that tell us nothing about yourself and merely ask what is available or for how much will usually simply be deleted without a reply.

I prefer not to export, so these enquiries are dealt with on their own merit and will usually only go to friends that have been in contact with me for some time.

**Please do let us know if you're on our waiting list but have in the mean time had a change of mind or acquired a dog from elsewhere.**

There are less than 100 Mittel puppies registered in the UK each year and we appreciate that not everyone values the concept of waiting for the right puppy so you could be taking up a valuable space on our waiting list and preventing puppies going off to new homes at the optimal time if your name is needlessly still on our list.
